About Me

I am a reader.

The first step to recovery is admitting you’re an addict.  The thing is…I don’t want to recover.  I love being a reader!  I named my blog Bibliophage because I don’t just read books, I eat up every wonderful word and perfect turn of phrase.

Since I was a kid, I’ve loved books.  When everyone else was picking out toys, I wanted a new book.  There was a brief lull in my reading in middle school, but in 7th grade I discovered the joy of reading mysteries.  When I went off to college, I tried really hard to declare Pharmacy as my major, but despite my best efforts, I ended up as an English major.  I just couldn’t stop myself.

As an English major, I had to read A LOT of things I didn’t necessarily like.  So, when I graduated, I took a couple of years off from reading.  When I started up again, I vowed I would only read for enjoyment.  I have pretty much kept that promise to myself.

I still love a good mystery, but my reading interests have branched out significantly.  I now love thrillers, techno-thrillers, fantasy, urban fantasy, YA, straight fiction and the occasional classic.  I am attempting to throw a little science fiction in there, but I’m very picky with which one’s I’ll try.  Hopefully, Sci-fi will become a new favorite genre in the future.  I typically do not read romance, biographies or non-fiction, but I try to never say never.

I decided to start blogging because I always loved writing in high school and college.  I missed putting my words into black and white.  Plus, I already read like a mad woman and did mini-reviews on Goodreads.  I figured this might just be my niche.

So, there you go!  That’s a little about me and my reading habits.  I hope you’ll follow my blog, and I hope my reviews will be helpful in your quest for the next great book.

Please tell me what you think!
